The WHY of Cowboy Action Shooting
- The great aspect of this sport is that it allows everyone to play along. You can be the shooter who takes pleasure from dressing in period attire, adores old fireams, and savors sending lead down range at a pace that matches where you are in life. You can be the person who wants to be a competitor with like minded people to better your shooting, transitions, and scores. At this year's End of Trail World Championship, the top 2 shooters were separated by 2.82 sec. overall (or 0.235 sec/stage).The beauty of the sport is that you get to decide.
Venue
We shoot 6 stages/match.
We have the usual compliment of targets, including a Texas star and a shotgun popper. We have cool props. SASS rules apply.

Directions
Interstate 64, Charlottesville exit 120 south. Travel south 4 miles to the Rivanna Rifle & Pistol Club (1570 Old Lynchburg Road), entrance will be on your right. Inside the main gate, look for SASS crossed six guns sign and make first right onto road to outdoor ranges. When you proceed into the late 1800s, you're there.
